2012 Events

• January 10 (Tuesday)- Annual Meeting, (members only) - potluck at Myrna & Charlie Smith's 6:30pm
• March 10 (Saturday) - The Arboretum’s annual “Spring Expo”, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. DSM will participate, along with other plant societies. Volunteers needed – contact Edie Godfrey at 952-472-5623.
• March 14 (Wednesday) - Spring meeting and potluck at Denis and Bev Dailey’s home. Main Entrée Lamb Stew! Come learn about the new PHOTOGRAPHY section of our show! Directions and details to follow closer to the date.
• April 20-22 - American Daffodil Society national show and convention, Baltimore, MD
• May 4-5-6 - our SPRING SHOW! Friday afternoon is setup, Saturday AM is entries & judging, Saturday PM and Sunday all day are open to the public for viewing. We will be back at Bachman’s on Lyndale!
  We will need lots of volunteers all three days – contact Mike Berrigan at 651-497-4703.

• April/May - Self-Guided Tours of members’ gardens while daffodils are in bloom
• Late May or Early June (dates to be announced) - Bulb dig in Michigan at John Reed’s growing fields (this is the source for all those bulbs we sell in the fall!). Volunteers always welcome – contact Denis Dailey at 651-644-3606!
• June (TBD) - Bulb Group Order meeting and potluck dinner at Kathy Julius’s home. Gather to discuss and place ‘group orders’ for bulbs. Directions and details to follow closer to the date.
• July 19-21 - Regional Master Gardener Conference. DSM may staff an information table, and there might be a few bulbs to sell (if they have dried enough)
• August (Specifc dates to be announced) - Bulb Cleaning & Bagging, in prep for fall sales.Edie Godfrey will either bring bulbs to you, or you can go to her home. (Hint: free bulbs to anyone who volunteers!)
• Late August/Early September (TBD) - Bulb exchange and purchases (members only) date and location TBD. Also a “plant exchange” if you have divisions you’d like to share. This is the best time to get show-quality daffodil varieties at very cheap prices!
• August 18-19 Fall Bulb Sales - Arboretum “Flower Fest”. Our primary bulb sale opportunity. There may be more, so prepare to volunteer. Remember, free bulbs to all volunteers.
• Late October/Early November – (TBD) Plant pots of daffodils at Governor’s Residence in St. Paul (4th annual)
• December (TBD) Annual combined Holiday Party, with the Iris Society of Minnesota (ISM). The DSM will host in 2012. Details to follow closer to the event.
